SITTING IS THE NEW SMOKING?

We know by now that sedentary lifestyles are unhealthy, but it turns out not all forms of sitting are created equal. Sitting for work may not be as bad for heart health as leisure-time sitting is. A recent study found that ‘often or always’ sitting for work was not associated with heightened risk of heart disease, but that watching four or more hours of TV a day was. Regular exercise is always encouraged but this study can offer some peace of mind for office workers.
