Is this 10-day headache normal?

-

Q Recently, my son was hit in the head by a cricket ball. He wasn’t knocked out, but the coach said we should take him to Emergency. The doctors were very thorough – they told us he had concussion but that it was fine to take him home. That was 10 days ago. He still has a headache. Should I take him back?

A It is actually normal to have a slight headache or feel sick or a bit dazed for up to two weeks with concussion. As long as it’s gradually improving, there is no cause for concern. However, if his symptoms seem to be getting worse or if he develops visual problems or problems with his balance, he needs to be seen urgently.
