What’s going on?’ I wondered. Aged eight, I could see my sister, Veronica, and her friend frantically diving into a swimming pool.
But I was viewing the commotion from above, as though I was a bird.
Then I saw myself being brought up from under the water. I returned to my body and opened my eyes.
‘We thought you drowned,’ sobbed Veronica, shocked.
I’d been lying underwater after being pushed into the pool and hitting my head.
To everyone’s surprise I was okay but after that, my life changed. Walking down the street, I could pick up on what strangers were thinking and feeling. It was as though I was reading their soul.
I’d become an ‘empath’ – someone who feels others’ emotions as if they are their own – without knowing what it was.
Others sensed it and began gravitating towards me with their troubles.
I learned I had healing abilities. If I touched someone, my hands would become red hot and the person’s pains would lessen or disappear.
Afraid of how much energy I was projecting, I retreated from my abilities.
After leaving school, I did a carpentry and joinery apprenticeship and started my own bathroom renovation company.
Eventually, I lost my passion for the business. My destiny lay elsewhere.
I went to university to study psychology and began doing ‘soul readings’ at home and at Mind, Body and Spirit festivals.
Sometimes, people would ask, ‘Why can’t I nd a partner?’
Their soul would come into my mind, like looking at an X-ray.
Often the person was alone because they hadn’t let go of the past, causing an energy block. Sometimes the names of those who’d hurt them and the age it happened would come to me too.
I’d advise them to release it by connecting with Mother Nature. I’d also suggest wearing a protective black tourmaline or obsidian crystal bracelet on their left wrist to allow love into their life.
Other times, I could tell they had a health problem because I’d get a pain too.
So if I got a pain in my stomach, I knew they had the same issue and would tell them to get it checked. As soon as I’d shared that with them, my pain vanished.
I’ve now done thousands of soul readings and I’ve written a book, Break Free from Self Sabotage in 7 Steps, to give people the tools to resolve the issues they uncover themselves.
