COULD I BE DEPRESSED?

-

Q My husband left me last autumn after 24 years of marriage. My friends have been amazing, but almost a year down the line, they’re all getting on with their lives. I feel I should be able to move on, but I can’t sleep, I don’t go out and I just sit at home crying all day. Could I be depressed? A Perhaps. A separation after so many years is a major life event and can cause a reactive depression. Symptoms include early morning waking, lack of motivation, and the loss of appetite and sex drive. It is not uncommon for people to hold things together in the early stages fuelled by adrenaline and become depressed later on. Please make an appointment to see your GP as they will be able to help.
