SERVES 4
PREP AND COOK: 20 MINS
225g can pineapple slices in juice, drained
8 x 2cm slices pane di casa bread
⅓ cup Special Burger Sauce
4 slices leg ham
4 slices Tasty cheese, halved
3 eggs, lightly beaten ¼ cup finely grated parmesan
1 Place pineapple on absorbent kitchen paper and pat dry.
2 Place bread on a clean bench. Spread one side of each slice with 2 tsps of the burger sauce.
3 Divide ham, pineapple and cheese over half the slices of bread. Top with remaining bread slices, sauce-side down.
4 Whisk the eggs and parmesan in a shallow, rectangular dish until well combined.
5 Place two sandwiches at a time into the egg mixture. Stand for 1 minute. Turn over. Stand until soaked, then remove. Repeat with the remaining sandwiches.
6 Cook sandwiches in a heated, large sandwich press between two sheets of baking paper for about 8 minutes, or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
7 Cut sandwiches in half to serve.
