Hero wife – I saved my hubby from a shark

-

As young married couple Andrew Eddy and Margot

Dukes-Eddy enjoyed a day out on the water with family last September, they never expected it to turn into a life and death ght.

Margot’s parents and sister were swimming by a reef when Andrew jumped in for a spot of snorkelling.

He was only in the water for a few seconds when Margot, who was heavily pregnant and still on board the motorboat, spotted a sinister shape – a shark!

Believed to be a

2.7-metre bull shark, it attacked Andrew, leaving Margot facing a chilling scene in the water.

Dukes saw the shark’s dorsal n, and then blood

lling the water, Deputy Christopher Aguanno wrote in his report.

Without hesitation, Margot dived in.

Reaching her husband of three years, she grabbed him and pulled him back to the safety of the boat before she climbed aboard herself.

Andrew, 30, was bleeding from the shoulder.

As Margot was saving her hubby from the shark, her mother called for help.

‘We’re at Sombrero lighthouse and my son-inlaw just got bit by a shark in the shoulder. We need help immediately!’ she screamed to the emergency services operator.

Andrew was in a critical condition, but thanks to Margot, he survived the attack, in Florida Keys, US.

Andrew is on the road to a full recovery, and we are extremely grateful that the severity of his injuries are not life threatening, Margot wrote on social media, adding that Andrew would still be able to cradle the baby girl the couple were expecting with his injured arm. ●
