Born to wed
Tyler and Kelsey West met in August 2021 when Tyler, then 23, went to deposit a cheque at the bank where Kelsey, 22, worked.
They started chatting and realised they were students at the same university. Tyler asked for Kelsey’s number and they went on a date.
The pair quickly fell in love, and in February 2023, Tyler proposed.
Soon after, Tyler and Kelsey organised a dinner so they could introduce their parents to each other.
Their mums had a feeling they’d met before. ‘I couldn’t quite put my nger on it,’ Tyler’s mum, Mary Ann, told People.
While selecting photos to use in a slide show at their May wedding, Tyler started icking through Kelsey’s baby book and stopped short at a photo of a midwife taking newborn Kelsey’s footprint.
‘That’s my mum!’ Tyler gasped.
Kelsey’s mum, Stacy, instantly recalled how kind and supportive Mary Ann had been during Kelsey’s birth.
Kelsey was Stacy’s third child and she’d con ded to Mary Ann that she was worried about coping with three children aged under three, while juggling a full-time job.
Mary Ann told Stacy that she had also just returned to work after giving birth to her third baby, a son named Tyler, assuring Stacy she’d be okay.
‘She calmed my soul,’ Stacy said.
Stacy dug out the video of Kelsey’s birth. Sure enough, there was Mary Ann, the rst person to hold newborn Kelsey and completely unaware she was holding her future daughter-in-law.
Stacy and Mary Ann have now become fast friends and can’t wait to be grandmothers together.
It’s like Tyler and
Kelsey were born to wed!
‘This whole family, we were meant to be,’ Mary Ann said.
‘She calmed my soul,’ Stacy said
