Post-em­ploy­ment re­straints, which can pre­vent an em­ployee from work­ing in the in­dus­try for a pe­riod of time af­ter they re­sign, are more com­mon in the tight labour mar­ket.

Em­ploy­ers must en­sure re­straints are legally en­force­able while em­ploy­ees also should check for fair­ness in their con­tracts.
