A DIP in South Australia’s employment expectations for the coming three months reflects uncertainty about the state of the economy, with most employers planning to keep their head count steady as they watch for emerging economic trends.

Hudson’s latest Employment Expectations report, which surveyed 4481 Australian employers on hiring expectations for the April to June period, showed sentiment in South Australia dipped 2.9 per cent to 17.6 per cent from the previous quarter.

With 89.3 per cent of companies still expecting to either maintain their workforce or hire new staff, expectations of jobs cuts contributed only a small part to the decline.
