Health pro­mo­tion of­fi­cers work with health and com­mu­nity groups to im­prove the health and well-be­ing of peo­ple. They raise aware­ness of healthy life­styles, dis­ease, dis­abil­ity and other health-re­lated is­sues by pro­vid­ing gen­eral ad­vice and in­for­ma­tion to the public to take home and con­sider. They also talk in-depth with in­di­vid­ual pa­tients and help de­velop healthy liv­ing plans. Of­fi­cers can be em­ployed at com­mu­nity health clin­ics, med­i­cal cen­tres, hos­pi­tals and with or­gan­i­sa­tions ded­i­cated to health is­sues.
