Cer­tifi­cate IV tops ta­ble

MORE work­ers com­plete a Cer­tifi­cate IV qual­i­fi­ca­tion than any other vocational ed­u­ca­tion and train­ing course.

Na­tional Cen­tre for Vocational Ed­u­ca­tion Re­search statis­tics show 38.5 per cent of Cer­tifi­cate IV stu­dents fin­ish their qual­i­fi­ca­tion, com­pared with 37.4 per cent of those study­ing a di­ploma or higher qual­i­fi­ca­tion.

The fig­ures show 37.3 per cent of Cer­tifi­cate III stu­dents fin­ish their qual­i­fi­ca­tion, although the rate rises to 50.1 per cent for stu­dents who are aged 25 years and un­der and do not hold any other post-school qual­i­fi­ca­tion.

The re­search also finds that 60 per cent of stu­dents gain a bet­ter job or a higher salary by com­plet­ing their VET study.
