WALL AND FLOOR TILER
Wall and floor tilers lay ceramic, clay, slate, marble and glass tiles on external and internal walls and floors to provide protective and decorative finishes. This specialised trade requires tilers to examine plans before preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, scraping grout and adhesive as well as filling holes. Tilers need to be able to cut tiles to shape so they can apply tiles around edges, pipes and fittings. They also need to be skilled in waterproofing areas. Some of the more specialised tilers also work with mosaics.
