IN their sporting careers, they were always on the move – on and off the playing arena. Now it has come to one of a more permanent nature.

Former Fitzroy and Port Ade l a i d e Ma g p i e s footballer Roger Delaney and his wife, ex-Thunderbird netballer Jacqui, are selling their West Lakes home.

The immaculately presented home features four bedrooms, gourmet kitchen and an inground pool with an undercover paved entertaining area.

‘‘We were attracted by the unique design and different architectural s t r u c t u r e , ’ ’ Mr Delaney says.

‘‘It’s a really open and light space with every door at the rear opening on to the garden. ‘‘It’s a very friendly, inviting home.’’ The home was listed with LJ Hooker West Lakes agents Frank Azzollini and Rosemary Auricchio and will go to auction at 1.30pm on February 27.

The former Waterworth Hospital – 1c Pier St, Glenelg – is on the market. Built in 1850 as a hospital, the property has also been used as a nursing home.

It was sold and renovated and divided into three residences six years ago.

Now Brock Harcourts Magill agent Alexander Zadow has listed one of the residences on the market with a price guide of $1.325 million.

‘‘The set of three are iconic seaside buildings and many Adelaide people would know of them as they have walked or driven past over the years,’’ he says.

The property boasts a flexible floorplan and up to four bedrooms, a large sitting room and timber kitchen with granite benchtops.

The esplanade is about 200m away while Moseley Square and Jetty Rd are within walking distance.

The property can be inspected from 1pm to 1.45pm today and expressions of interest close at 5pm on Wednesday, March 3.

In other news, Raine & Horne Meadows and Strathalbyn proprietor Gary Dawe was awarded 2010 Citizen of the Year at the District Council of Mt Barker Australia Day Awards.

Mr Dawe has been on a large number of community groups, including Meadows 150 Coordinating Committee, and has been involved in many local activities and sports over many decades.

‘‘I just do what I love to do, along with many volunteers, to help make Meadows a great place to live,’’ he says.
