THE McPhees are on the hunt for their next dream home, but they are going to have to find it in Victoria.

Former Bendigo and Adelaide Bank director Jamie McPhee has taken up the position as chief executive of Members Equity and the move means his grand Queen Anne-style home is to go on the market.

‘‘The lovely thing about the house is it has this really nice blend of old with new,’’ Mr McPhee says.

The McPhee family has spent 20 months of their six years of ownership renovating to bring it in line with modern standards. It boats traditional character features, such as a sweeping return veranda, Queen Anne circular turret and feature stone walls.

As you would expect, there also is a 15m-long swimming pool, with solar and gas heating, and a tennis court.

The Millswood home is on the market with Klemich Real Estate’s Steve Alexander for expressions of interest between $4 million and $4.3 million.

With a home of this scale, you would expect it to host several parties, but alas the McPhees’ only party was for Jamie’s mum’s 70th recently.

They did manage to indulge some 100 guests, though.

Despite the move, the McPhees are not severing their Adelaide ties yet.

A block of land at Middleton they had their eyes on some years ago came on to the market during Mr McPhee’s first week on the new job. Although they built a holiday home on the opposite side of the road – which was recently sold to a friend – the McPhees bought the land they originally wanted and plan to sit on it until they are ready to build.

And at Moana, our spies at Professionals last week spotted a BBC film crew shooting a documentary called

The doco is about attracting new skilled migrants to Australia and in part focuses on a new development of six luxury townhouses on the beachfront at Moana. The developers are Professionals Christies Beach managing director Kevin J. Barry and his development partner George Kennedy, recently retired former chairman of The Professionals Group in Australasia. It is rumoured Kevin and George and their families each will be living in one of the three-level luxury homes while building on another nearby beachfront site in the near future.

The McPhee family’s Millswood home is on the market.
