Who’s been seen where and the big-name properties up for grabs
The Pilkingtons have the sevenyear real-estate itch. Cheerful FIVEaa radio jock Tony Pilkington says for ‘‘whatever reason’’ he and his wife, Anne, move house every seven years and, well, their cycle’s almost done a 360 again.
The Pilkington pair and their offspring, 21 and 24, are preparing to auction their stunning Stonyfell home.
Where they’re going nobody knows.
‘‘We haven’t got a clue which is ridiculous at our age,’’ Tony says with a laugh.
‘‘It’s exciting, dangerous, stupid, call it whatever you like.’’
It is a bittersweet sale for the downsizing Pilkingtons, who have loved living in the Gandys Gully Rd home. In fact, having the home on the market has made them question just why they are selling it as they see the many standout features crystallised in words.
‘‘It’s not until you’ve got it on the market that you think ‘I wish I used it more’,’’ Tony says honestly.
‘‘The views are just spectacular and it’s even better at night when all the lights are on. I’ts got a good feel about it ... it’s made to be enjoyed.’’ The contemporary home offers views across the city and Hills face, and has open-plan living and three bedrooms.
Romantics will be carried away by the Juliet balcony off the master suite.
The property is offered on two separate titles, totalling about 1443sq m.
Toop & Toop agents Lew Toop and Debi Zecevich are handling the sale.
It goes to auction on April 30 with a price guide of $1,650,000.
