A convenient spot to park
The location was one of the drawcards for renovating a three-bedroom house in Lockleys, writes Lachlan Pryor.
LOCATION and potential were the driving forces for the purchase of a three-bedroom house at Lockleys seven years ago. ‘‘We like the location and convenience. The home has proximity to the beach and the city,’’ the vendor says. ‘‘With the view to having a family, we liked what was in the surrounding area, with two parks in our street – one with a playground and the other being Linear Park, where the kids can see the ducks along the Torrens.’’
The vendor says they saw potential in the house and renovated it from scratch.
‘‘Everything in there is brand new. The shell is the same but we’ve done everything from the kitchen to bathroom, plumbing and wiring,’’ the vendor says.
‘‘I don’t think you could spend a single cent more on the place.’’
The house has a formal dining, formal living and a kitchen with Smeg appliances and Caesarstone benchtops.
‘‘The three bedrooms sit on the other side of the home so there is a distinction from the living rooms,’’ the vendor says.
‘‘At the rear of the home we have a dedicated storeroom and oversized laundry, which is a great utility (rrom).
‘‘The amount of storage in the home is exceptional, with the dedicated storeroom, the master (bedroom) with his and hers built-in, and built-in robes in bedroom three.’’
The vendor says they spared no expense when renovating.
‘‘We didn’t want to skimp on anything in the property. We refurbished with a view to enjoying the lifestyle,’’ the vendor says.
‘‘The home would definitely fit someone who appreciates quality in terms of fixtures and fittings. Everything is absolutely top-grade.’’
The vendor says the house, which features original baltic pine polished floorboards, would suit a range of buyers.
‘‘It would suit a young professional couple, a young couple with young kids or people at the other end of the scale who are downsizing,’’ the vendor says.
‘‘It would also be great for a single parent with children, who wants a low-maintenance and lowfuss lifestyle.’’
