ASENSE of community was a key attraction when Shannon and Christie Coad bought a new Mawson Lakes house in 2003. Mrs Coad says after often visiting family in the suburb, they decided to buy there.

‘‘Our in-laws live just up the road and we often came to visit the area and loved it,’’ she says.

‘‘Around 2003 we saw the house going up with a ‘for sale’ sign so we went for it.’’

Mrs Coad says the location has been a great fit for their growing family.

‘‘It’s a real community place and you have everything you need here,’’ she says.

‘‘We’re in a really good location here with the lake and playground and park right near us.’’

The courtyard home boasts three bedrooms, including the master with a walk-in robe and ensuite. An open-plan living area at the rear of the house incorporates the kitchen, dining and lounge rooms and opens to a pergola-covered outdoor entertaining area.

The property features a second courtyard to the side of the house.

‘‘It was really nice buying a brand new house,’’ Mrs Coad says. ‘‘It has some great areas to entertain.’’ Mrs Coad says the property would be suited to a range of people, from first-home buyers to retirees. ‘‘It’s a good size house and everything there has been done,’’ she says.
