ATHREE-STOREY home in Glenelg North’s prestigious Cygnet Court offers an envious lifestyle and unsurpassed entertaining opportunities says vendor Craig. Craig and his wife Carol bought the home in 2008 and said the property’s location and views were hard to beat.
‘‘The views and lifestyle were a big part of it — we loved that we could walk straight down to the beach with the dogs and also had quick access to Jetty Rd and all of the restaurants at the Holdfast Shores precinct,’’ Craig says.
‘‘We’re all pretty active so we’re close to parks, tennis courts and ride our bikes all the time and the marina has been very handy because we often take the boat out and can just walk back with the Esky.’’
The home has recently been renovated throughout and Craig says the upgrades cost almost $500,000.
‘‘The kitchen was a couple hundred thousand and because we thought we were going to be here for a long time we didn’t hold back on the renovations, but life changes and it’s a bit sad that we have to leave but there are stages in life and we’ll excitedly move on to the next one,’’ he said.
Included in the renovations were an upgrade to the pool to include a water feature and gas heating; new lawn and timberwork, adjusted ceiling heights, upgraded kitchen appliances, and bedrooms were rearranged to incorporate a glass-door cellar.
‘‘The table in the kitchen cost about $20,000 and that comes with the house now because it’s part of the whole kitchen.’’ The home has five bedrooms, two with walk-in robes and the other three have built-in robes.
There are four bathrooms, a billiard room, four balconies, two vergolas and covered parking for three cars.
Craig says the home is the ultimate entertainer, offering numerous entertaining spaces and giving families room to move. ‘‘There’s plenty of space throughout and the elevator gives the home a great lifestyle feel,’’ he says.
