Touch the sky in this city penthouse with the works

You’ll be sittin’ on top of the world in this city penthouse that’s hitting the market for the first time since it was finished earlier this year. Enjoy parties long into the early hours, then wake to 360-degree views over the CBD

When it comes to luxurious city penthouses, there’s only one that can really be compared to this one. And, in saying that, this one’s supposedly even better.

The two-storey levels 38 and 39 south penthouse of the Realm apartment complex has just hit the market, offering a level of luxury not often seen in the apartment space.

Realm Adelaide’s head of sales Ben Small says the property was completed in January, but held back from the market so that buyers could experience it for themselves, as opposed to selling it off the plan.

“The developer held this one back right from when we started selling this complex,” Mr Small says. “We sold the north penthouse for a record price in Adelaide and we thought that now’s the right time to release this one, now that we can furnish it, walk people through it and give them a great feel for how amazing it is.

“This is brand new, it's never been lived in before. Realm Adelaide was completed in late

July, with the north penthouse selling off the plan in June 2018 for $5.2 million. The only thing like this in Adelaide was the northern penthouse which set a new record and we expect this one to set a new record again.

“Now that it’s fully furnished people can truly get a sense of what the space is and how grand and unique it is. Obviously when you’re selling off the plan you’re selling off an A4 sheet of paper, but now to be able to walk through it, touch it and feel it, that’s amazing.”

The home offers some 440sqm of internal living space over two levels and 150sqm of outdoor living space. It features four bedrooms, a study, a cinema room, a wine cellar, two kitchens and a rooftop entertaining deck with a wood-fire pizza oven, a barbecue, a bar and a spa.

“The builders really have done a fantastic job and have bought a level of finish to this property that is unseen in Adelaide,” Mr Small says. “The quality of the fixtures and finishes in this penthouse really are second to none. The wine cellar features custom timber joinery and glass imported from Germany. All the appliances are top of the range Miele. It’s got marble benchtops and splashbacks throughout. The 3m ceilings really make such a difference in terms of space and then it’s glass right the way round, so the amount of natural light that comes through this apartment is just amazing and those views can be enjoyed from every room.

“It’s probably one of the only apartments in Adelaide with a woodfire pizza oven. It really is a special home.”

As well as all of those features, the home also offers owners access to the complex’s exclusive amenities, including a wellbeing zone for indoor yoga, a 270sqm rooftop spa, sauna and steam room, a cross-fit enabled gym and climbing wall, two private function spaces and a games room and a 25 metre-long lap pool and spa. Mr Small says as amazing as the home is, its view will prove to be one of its biggest drawcards.

“Being set on levels 38 and 39, the view is amazing – it starts at Adelaide Oval and stretches across to the Bay, over the CBD, the Adelaide Parklands to the hills beyond,” Mr Small says.

“You can see the East End and then over the Botanic Gardens – it’s spectacular. And it’s a view you can enjoy from all throughout the house – that master bathroom has the best view from any bathroom in Adelaide. Being set up that high also does give you an amazing sense of privacy because you’re essentially looking down on everyone, which is an amazing perspective.”

Mr Small says despite its price, the home has wide appeal and will suit a range of buyers.

“We’re expecting it to appeal to everyone from families to downsizers looking to move away from the hard work of maintaining a garden and looking to get into what is essentially a home in the sky, but without the hassles of dealing with all the housework,” Mr Small says. “We’re expecting to sell this to a local, but we’ll definitely target Sydney and Melbourne buyers because we’re seeing a lot of people looking at Adelaide property in the wake of COVID-19.”

The home is just a short walk from Rundle Mall and North Tce’s many attractions.
