I don’t agree with Robert Lusetich that the day of the cricket Test match is over (Run Out, 5/12/09). Yes, we all find our­selves more rushed th­ese days, and per­haps con­cen­tra­tion spans are less than they used to be. But that’s why I think the five-day game will live on. It’s just the an­ti­dote to the speed of the mod­ern world. And I think the re­de­vel­op­ment of the Ade­laide Oval is proof of that love of tra­di­tion. Yes, we can have our py­jama game and Twenty20, but we don’t have to throw the baby out with the bath­wa­ter. S. Lance Gilles Plains
