LETTER OF THE WEEK
I feel deeply ashamed of my generation (Gimme Shelter 10/7/10). We were misguided in marrying young and buying a modest house while we raised a family. We delayed our first overseas trip until the kids were grown, because, stupidly, we were paying off our house. We stupidly saved and waited for our rewards. Generation X and Y, please accept my apologies and find forgiveness when your mortgages are paid off from our estates when we die. For your sake, I hope it’s soon.
