Thai-inspired food range One of the most recognisable faces – and names – from our league of SA contestants on Marion Grasby has a strong foothold as a darling of the food scene, more global than local with her own Thai food range and TV cooking show set in Thailand. She has just released her second book, ($39.99 Pan Macmillan). My favourite SA restaurant... Fino in Willunga. Best meal ever... a home-cooked family meal of curry and dahl that I shared with some wonderful new friends in Agra, India. Worst meal ever tasted... the cheese and onion sandwiches I had to eat in boarding school. The most embarrassing item in my fridge/pantry... strawberry milk. One ingredient I can’t live without... fish sauce. Favourite cookbook... Charmaine Solomon’s My last supper choice would be... Coffin Bay oysters with a squeeze of lemon, Singapore black pepper crab and Thai mango and sticky rice. A kitchen tool I can’t live without... the mortar and pestle my mother gave me when I first moved out of home. A bucket-list dining experience I recommend... David Thompson’s Nahm restaurant in Bangkok. It’s an experience not to be missed. Guilty pleasure... standing in front of the fridge and scoffing spoonfuls of leftover curry.
