The Advertiser - SA Weekend - - UP FRONT -

My husband and I recently visited Adelaide and took our bicycles with us for some recreational cycling. We very much enjoyed the Torrens Linear Park, where pedestrians and cyclists both use the pathway. We also cycled along suburban footpaths, knowing that it is against the law to do so in South Australia, but without mishap. We felt much safer than we would have if we had cycled along the roadways, bike lanes notwithstanding. I would like to suggest that South Australia change the law to make it legal for adults to cycle on footpaths. Meredith Geyer Kingscote
