LETTER OF THE WEEK

The Advertiser - SA Weekend - - UP FRONT -

Oh Susie! You know what the problem is but you choose to ignore it. Your children are demanding and are never happy with what they have because they don’t have the one thing all children want and need – their mother’s attention. You are plying them with expensive days out, sweets and treats to keep them quiet while you work to supply them with "things" that they do not need.

Children in my day were secure enough to make their own fun, and did not pester Mum because they knew that she was always there.

With all that children receive and do, they still want more. What kind of adults will they turn out to be you have to ask? Stop beating yourself up about your children's bad behaviour and just say NO.

It’s pretty easy really, and a word they need to hear. Carolyn Phillips via email
