The Advertiser - SA Weekend - - UP FRONT -

Here at we love to tell the stories of all kinds of South Australians, and this week we have a couple of great examples — people whose contribution is crucial, but often taken for granted.

First-up is young AFL umpire Craig Fleer. Without passionate people like him, there’d be no game. Yet sometimes all he gets in return is mindless abuse. It doesn’t bother Craig though, because he loves his footy (and has a thick skin).

Then there’s Leith Jenkins, a Royal Show stalwart about to retire after 56 years. The Show is one of the most popular events in the state. But it wouldn't happen without the devotion of stalwarts like Leith.
