Lush, long, shiny locks resembling Kate Middleton and Kim Sears (Google her, she’s married to tennis player Andy Murray and has amazingly bouncy hair) was the brief I gave my hairdresser Bec to replicate for my own mane at the start of the year.

Months later, my neglected hair was looking ratty. Feeling slightly embarrassed I’d let it go, I booked in for a cut and blow-dry at Verve.

Upon arriving at the salon, I began to relax the moment the friendly trainee hairdresser started washing my hair and massaging my head using scrumptious smelling L’Oreal products.

By the time she’d finished and offered me a complimentary coffee, Bec was ready to start the transformation.

With years of experience, it was obvious she knew what she was doing. She effortlessly snipped here and there and before I knew it was asking me how I’d like my hair to be styled.

Instead of the usual blow-dry, Bec styled one side of my hair into soft curls by blow-drying and then using a GHD, while the other side was slicked back and pinned in place behind my ear. The end result was pretty and feminine, an ideal do for a wedding, cocktail party or engagement.

As I left, Bec informed me my hair was looking much healthier. So, maybe with a bit of TLC, I really will get those Kate Middleton locks after all. THE TREATMENT Cut and blow-dry $85 WHERE Verve Hair, 130 Belair Rd, Hawthorn, 8271 5299
