SAWeek­end (Nov 7-8) and to­day’s Ad­ver­tiser (Nov 10) have fea­tured nom­i­na­tions and awards for food.

A glar­ing omis­sion is a cat­e­gory for vege­tar­ian restau­rants. As more ev­i­dence points to a meat-dom­i­nant diet be­ing a health risk, surely more cre­dence should be given to vege­tar­ian food.

Chefs such as Jamie Oliver have sug­gested go­ing meat-free sev­eral days a week. How about in­clud­ing vege­tar­ian and ve­gan food venue awards and all restau­rants step­ping up on menu op­tions?

Jenny Esots Wil­lunga I agree with Kathy Lette. I breast­fed my two boys 40 years ago when and where they needed it in Alice Springs. No one blinked an eye.

Ade­laide was more stitched up but I did it dis­creetly so didn’t have too much bother. I would hope peo­ple were more en­light­ened th­ese days.

G Has­kett Moana Breast is best and women must to be able to feed their ba­bies when and where they need to. It is of­fen­sive that some peo­ple still want it done be­hind closed doors.
