The Advertiser - SA Weekend - - ART -

I’m the kind of person who loves an elbow in my shoulder blade – when it comes to massages, that is.

So it was a different kind of experience when I stopped by Jurlique’s Burnside Village store for their “Best of Both Worlds” treatment.

The hour-long version comprises a mini Jurlique signature facial and a half-hour back massage. Those with more time can extend by half an hour to get the full facial experience.

Being a fan and regular user of Jurlique’s South Australian owned and produced skincare range, the facial is a regular indulgence which involves the consultant examining your skin, tailoring a relaxing facial to suit your needs and then walking you through skincare options you can continue at home. But the massage portion was all new – and perfectly complemented the facial experience.

At first I lamented the lack of paininducing pressure but soon got with the program – long strokes and constant movements designed to lull you further into the relaxation zone. By treatment’s end not only did I have silky skin all over (thanks to a light massage oil), I was right on the edge of sleep – even to the point of wiping a tiny bit of drool from the corner of my mouth. So classy. THE TREATMENT Best of Both Worlds facial and massage.
