Award for addiction research
A QUEST to understand internet gaming addiction has propelled two Adelaide researchers to the heights of academic excellence.
Today, University of Adelaide researchers Dr Daniel King and Professor Paul Delfabbro will be honoured in the 2015 Thomson Reuters Australian Citation & Innovation Awards at the University of Melbourne.
The award recognises a body of work – more than 50 peer-reviewed and frequently cited research publications – that demonstrates leadership in research and innovation.
Their work helped define, measure, assess and treat internet gaming addiction and contributed to recognition of the condition in the manual of mental disorders, which is used worldwide.
