Variety chain for city site

ADELAIDE CBD has been chosen as the launch pad for a new discount variety chain, ahead of a six-month rollout of several stores across metropolitan and regional SA.

The property in James Place, off Rundle Mall, which has been vacant for the past couple of years, will host Upstyle from next month via a lease negotiated by Leedwell’s Kristy Zammit.

Ms Zammit said the laneway, already inhabited by big national retailers such as LuLu Lemon and Media Make-Up, would be boosted by Upstyle’s lively presence.

“Over the past few years, Adelaide has enjoyed the rejuvenation of numerous city laneways, with vitality and commerce being injected into previously under utilised CBD locations. James Place is no ex- ception,” she said. Ms Zammit said Upstyle will open other outlets at Parabanks Shopping Centre in Salisbury and Mt Gambier Central this year.

The flagship store in James Place will boast a rustic look and feel with exposed brick and timber. “Upstyle advocates a simple, natural and quality life philosophy and a brand essence of returning to nature,” Ms Zammit said.
