Eddie and the best ... your dream forward

HE HAS the X-factor and goalkicking ability of Darren Jarman and the pace, crumbing and defensive pressure of Eddie Betts.

He is the perfect Adelaide Crow non-key forward and, though he doesn’t really exist, he would make a formidable opponent.

Last week we asked Crows fans to build their dream non-key forward on, and Betts and Jarman were the most popular choices.

Between them, the pair won five of six categories on offer. Voters decided their perfect non-key forward would have the mark of high-flyer Brett Burton.

This week, readers have the chance to build the perfect midfielder. And what a midfielder that player would be. There is a smorgasbord of stars to choose from. Imagine a combination of Ricciuto, Goodwin, Dangerfield, Bickley, Thompson and Edwards.

The Advertiser and Sunday Mail footy experts have identified six key attributes needed to build the perfect midfield player.

Next week, readers will have the chance to build their perfect key defender. Then non-key defender. Then ruckman. Then captain.

Once you have made your selections and voted, you will see how your votes compare with others. Every Tuesday, The Adver

tiser will publish a Valdman cartoon creation of a Frankenstein-like depiction of the footballer created by our readers.

The Build the Perfect Crow interactive on is part of the Crows’ 25-year celebrations.
