THOUSANDS of riders are expected to take over the road when the annual Motorcycle Riders’ Association of SA holds its 40th annual toy run tomorrow morning.

The run, which starts at 11am at Victoria Park, will take motorised two-wheelers in a convoy up to Callington.

Riders all bring a gift which the Vinnies distribute to families doing it tough at Christmas.

MRASA toy run site manager Cathy Lux said riders rode at the stately pace of 40km/h in the city and 80km/h on the freeway. “It’s not a race, it’s a cavalcade,” she said. Nola Watson, from the Bayside HOG (Harley Owners’ Group), said she was looking forward to leading Father Christmas.

“It’s a great cause, taking toys for the kids and you decorate up your bike – that’s what it’s all about,” she said.
