A new Crüe for guitar queen Ori
ADELAIDE guitar goddess Orianthi has teamed up with Mötley Crüe rocker Nikki Sixx on her new album.
The Los Angeles-based muso, below, has finally completed work on her fourth solo record and says one of the tracks was written by the Mötley Crüe co-founder.
“(He wrote) killer lyrics. He e-mailed them to me, and I was, like, ‘Woah! These are amazing’,” Orianthi told the Australian Rock Show podcast.
“So, yeah, we wrote a song with those lyrics – (producer) Marti (Frederiksen) and I. I’m really excited for everybody to hear this record. And hopefully they dig it as much as we enjoyed making it.”
Orianthi, who’s shared the stage with legendary musicians including Michael Jackson, Alice Cooper and Carlos Santana during her storied career, says the new album, titled O, will feature a slighty different sound.
“The thing is you have to keep on evolving and changing,” she explains.
“You don’t make the same record over and over again; I would just bore the hell out of myself and everyone else. So I wanna keep on changing.”
The new album is expected to be released this year.
