Sex-as­sault charge rocks MasterChef

BEN Unger­mann’s swift de­par­ture from MasterChef came in the same month he was charged over a sex­ual as­sault.

Vic­to­ria Police con­firmed Unger­mann, 33, had been charged with two counts of sex­ual as­sault on March 6.

It fol­lowed an al­leged in­ci­dent at Mel­bourne’s Dock­lands on Fe­bru­ary 23. The Queens­land­based chef was bailed to ap­pear at Mel­bourne Mag­is­trates’ Court on June 25. The al­leged of­fend­ing is un­der­stood to have taken place while Unger­mann, pic­tured, was film­ing the lat­est sea­son th Chan­nel 10 cook­ing show.

Fans had been left guess­ing why he was no longer on the show, es­pe­cially when he failed to ap­pear on last week’s episode fea­tur­ing Katy Perry.
