WA teacher named TED-ED innovator

-

HARRISDALE Senior High School english teacher Christie Simpson will join 30 educators from across the world to lead innovative projects tackling problems in the classroom.

Pitching her idea to TED-ED in New York, Ms Simpson aimed to create a living documentary to tell the story of the school – which opened this year – and local community, using video newscasts, pod casts and blogs.

“If students can see they are part of something important they are more interested and invested in their community and school,” Ms Simpson said.

“Any opportunity to learn how you can work better with young people, to spread ideas and amplify students’ voices speaks to me as a teacher.”
