SA re­duces school power bills

THE cost of pow­er­ing South Aus­tralia’s pub­lic schools is ex­pected to be re­duced by more than $2 mil­lion a year thanks to a $15 mil­lion State Gov­ern­ment in­vest­ment.

Forty Schools will re­ceive $250,000 grants for so­lar pan­els and LED light­ing up­grades, with an ad­di­tional 200 schools re­ceiv­ing fund­ing to re­place in­ef­fi­cient light­ing.

It is an­tic­i­pated that power bills at the schools re­ceiv­ing so­lar pan­els could re­duce by around $30,000 on av­er­age each year.
