LEADING surfacing company Synthetic Grass & Rubber Surfaces is a one-stop-shop specialising in rubber and synthetic grass, across multiple applications, in NSW schools.

Established in 1984 by managing director Mark Cunningham, the company has earned a stellar reputation over the years not only for high-quality products installed, authentic professionalism, on-time installation but also for their total care throughout and after a project.

SG&RS product base includes a wide selection of synthetic turf and rubber surfaces, including a long-lasting bespoke soft fall safety rubber for children’s play areas.

“Soft fall is a generic name for a safety surface, installed as per the Australian standard,” Mr Cunningham said, “working as a shock absorber for HIC which is what we call Head Impact Criteria.”

The non-toxic, non-allergenic and non-slip rubber surfacing comes in a range of colours and can be poured into position to suit individual requirements and spaces.

“We install everything from playgrounds and ancillary equipment to walkways, entertainment areas, Long Jump Run Ups, Netball Courts, Multipurpose Courts, Tennis Courts, Free Play Areas - rubber or synthetic grass under columns and big undercover COLA areas; anywhere that it could be put into a school, we can install it,” he said.

Mr Cunningham said amongst the many benefits of installing synthetic turf and rubber in schools, it is primarily installed to reduce maintenance and increase durability in high traffic zones.

“Whether we’re installing a sports field, children’s playground, or court, we only produce a safe place to play with our grass and rubber, using bright colours, unique designs and even 3D animals and shapes, creating an exciting and fun environment!” he said.
