Oil and gas jobs on rise

AUS­TRALIAN oil and gas jobs are show­ing signs of im­prove­ment with in­creased de­mand for work­ers ex­pected this quar­ter, ac­cord­ing to the lat­est Hays Quar­terly Re­port.

Hays stated em­ploy­ment con­di­tions were be­com­ing much more pos­i­tive, par­tic­u­larly in Vic­to­ria, with a num­ber of job va­can­cies open­ing up in the State for fit­ters and boil­er­mak­ers, me­chan­i­cal fit­ters, gas and pipe­line work­ers, and ex­pe­ri­enced project man­agers.

Other hotspots in­cluded WA, with in­creased va­cancy ac­tiv­ity for process and re­li­a­bil­ity en­gi­neers, and South Aus­tralia with in­creased de­mand for ten­der and qual­ity en­gi­neers.
