Persephone begins production
WOODSIDE has begun production at its $1.2 billion Persephone gas field off the coast of WA.
BP, one of the project’s shareholders (16.67 per cent), announced the Persephone gas field was now on stream, as well as its Juniper project offshore of Trinidad and Tobago.
135km north-west of Karratha, WA, the Persephone field was discovered in 2006 by the exploration well Persephone-1, 8km north-east of the North West Shelf Project’s North Rankin Complex and was approved for development in 2014.
The project is set to contribute about 50,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
