Battery manufacturing plant to open

GERMAN battery manufacturer sonnen will open a battery production plant in Adelaide that will create up to 430 jobs for the State.

The developer was still yet to choose a site for the plant, but confirmed it would only take between six and nine months to be up and running.

As part of its move into the South Australian market, sonnen will also relocate its headquarters from Sydney to Adelaide.

“Here in South Australia, we’re at the forefront of energy policy and renewable energy,” sonnen Australia managing director Chris Parratt said.
