Tawana on track for Q1 pro­duc­tion

NEAR-TERM lithium pro­ducer Tawana Re­sources is on track to be­gin pro­duc­tion at its Bald Hill project east of Kam­balda, WA, in the first quar­ter of CY18.

At the end of Novem­ber, de­sign of sep­a­ra­tion cir­cuit was 88 per cent com­plete, with con­trac­tors mo­bil­is­ing to site.

“Struc­tural steel work is now well ad­vanced and place­ment of me­chan­i­cal equip­ment and elec­tri­cal ca­bling has com­menced,” Tawana man­ag­ing di­rec­tor Mark Calder­wood said.

“We have se­lected min­ing, crush­ing, power and fuel con­trac­tors, and the min­ing con­trac­tor has mo­bilised to site.”

Tawana joins Al­tura Min­ing and Pil­bara Min­er­als in the race to be­come Aus­tralia’s next lithium pro­ducer, with all three ex­pected to be in pro­duc­tion by the end of March.
