Suc­cess at Cape Bed­ford

MIN­ERAL sands pro­ducer Di­a­treme Re­sources has re­leased a maiden min­eral re­source for its Cape Bed­ford project that con­firms a high-grade sil­ica de­posit.

The north QLD project con­tains an es­ti­mated 21.6 mil­lion tonnes at 99 per cent sil­ica.

“These re­sults sub­stan­ti­ate our pre­vi­ous ex­plo­ration ef­forts and we are de­ter­mined to ad­vance this project as quickly as pos­si­ble, work­ing closely with tra­di­tional own­ers, Hope Val­ley Congress, to en­sure max­i­mum eco­nomic ben­e­fits for the lo­cal com­mu­nity,” Di­a­treme chief ex­ec­u­tive Neil McIn­tyre said.

The com­pany is tar­get­ing the po­ten­tial ex­port of between 350,000 and 500,000 tonnes of high-qual­ity sil­ica sand per an­num over an es­ti­mated 20-year oper­at­ing life.
