Barminco se­cures Nova ex­ten­sion

BARMINCO will con­tinue works at In­de­pen­dence Group’s Nova nickel mine un­der a $240 mil­lion four-year con­tract ex­ten­sion.

The con­tract in­cluded un­der­ground min­ing ser­vices such as de­vel­op­ment and pro­duc­tion min­ing, with the op­tion of a fur­ther two-year ex­ten­sion.

Barminco said it would be es­tab­lish­ing a tech­nol­ogy com­mit­tee that will aim to drive ef­fi­cien­cies at the mine.

The com­pany has also se­cured a $US375 mil­lion un­der­ground min­ing ser­vices con­tract at An­gloGold Ashanti’s Obuasi project in Ghana.
