Expanding capabilities

-

ENERFLOW Mining Services moved into a 3000sqm state-of-the-art warehouse in Neerabup in December 2018 – a move which allowed the company to increase production capacity.

The new premises includes two overhead cranes, five haul truck-sized work bays, plus areas for the fabrication of loader buckets, mechanical and electrical workstations, and a dedicated spare parts area.

Enerflow general manager David Smith said the workshop had been very busy.

“There has been a variety of work completed that includes the rebuilding of several drill rigs that have gone back to work,” he said.

The scope of the drill rebuilds was a ground-up refurbishment with all components removed and rebuilt in-house, with all wearing components brought back to OEM specifications, full rehose, rewiring and replacement of critical electrical components.

Various improvements have also been added to the rig, including design and install of a depth counter system, while Enerflow has installed dust suppression technology to decrease harm to the operators.

The fabrication department has also been busy, among other things, rebuilding buckets with several completed over the past six months.

“They all were delivered on time and we are confident that this division of the company has been fine turned to deliver output the highest standard and beyond our clients expectations,” Mr Smith said.

The current 993 Wheel Loader bucket offers technology improvements in material to critical wear zones and better structural layout resulting in reduced exposure to risk for future maintenance.

Enerflow has offered its own custom lip which has been installed into the current build, giving the client more flexibility around key design factors that other suppliers cannot.

“Our specialists proud themselves on developing the most efficiently wear package engineered to suit the digging requirements of any site,” Mr Smith said.

Safety considerations within Enerflow are always paramount, therefore the overhead cranes and increased workspaces work nicely towards the company’s commitment to continual improvement that is outlined in its ISO certified safety system.

“The move was necessary for us to be able to meet forecast requirements from our clients,” Mr Smith said.

“But beyond that, the new workshop also provides for a more efficient and safe workflow that is consistent with our commitment to continual improvement.”

Community focus

Mr Smith said Enerflow had a strong history and belief in giving back to the community through several initiatives that included hiring further support staff who live in the area, and providing them with the flexibility to still meet their family commitments and work only school hours.

“The driving force of this commitment is that the mining industry has provided our families with opportunities, which are rarely found around the world, and we are extremely grateful,” he said.

“This move of the facility also helps us give back to the community and local businesses.

”We have built relationships with multiple family-run businesses who are now growing with us and providing more work and opportunity to everyday Australians.”

By improving safety, creating social change and enhancing the lives around its core business practices, Enerflow aims to give back to the community that has supported it since the beginning.

During the lead-up to the recent Federal election, Enerflow had the local Liberal member Christian Porter MP come out and meet the team at the workshop – which is located in his electorate.

“The visit from Mr Porter was well received and his support resonated strongly with many of Enerflow’s team members,” Mr Smith said.

Enerflow’s employees are empowered to drive change and identify any potential community improvement or involvement in which the company can offer enhancement.
