The trusted helicopter company
UNITED Aero Helicopters has long been synonymous with airborne geophysical surveys and the helicopter provider of choice for most survey companies currently exploring in Australia and the region.
Being one of the most experienced aerial work providers in Australia with a large modern fleet of helicopters ensures the company can continuously meet and exceed customers’ expectations.
From the beginning, low level airborne surveys have been an integral part of United Aero Helicopters’ core competencies, which is why it has a reputation for providing the best low level survey pilots in the industry.
The range of services offered by United Aero Helicopters includes remote area operations, geological mapping and heritage surveys, seismic, camp resupply and cargo relocation, aerial construction, gas and utility inspections, emergency services contracts including medevac and firefighting, using winch-equipped search and rescue helicopters as well as VIP IFR charter operations.
Complementing these services is United Aero Helicopters’ in-house Part 141 flight training school, as well as its maintenance organisation, Aerofix, with engineers who travel to remote areas when required and diligently perform complex maintenance tasks to ensure aircraft are continuously airworthy – minimising downtime.
Pilot training is also a key factor in United Aero Helicopters’ consistent success in providing quality airborne survey flying.
Having experienced survey pilots will not only significantly improve data quality and improve production by reducing costly re-flights, but will also greatly enhance safety performance and offer additional redundancies in controlling risk.
It is a formula which is hard to emulate as it takes years to build up this expertise and experience.
United Aero Helicopters, with bases in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, further expanded its WA operations in 2018 by opening an operational base in Newman to service its existing and new customers in the Pilbara and northern WA.
An AS350 B3 Squirrel is permanently based at Newman, with multiple further helicopters based throughout WA.
Helicopters can be reconfigured to suit clients’ needs, be it with an external cargo basket, water bucket for firefighting, or medical stretcher kit.
Other aircraft types available at short notice from any of its bases include the ambulance-equipped IFR twin engine BK117-C1.
