SAFETY MITS specialises in innovative products and maintenance equipment for the aerospace, construction, engineering, service, health, mining and earth-moving industries.

From humble beginnings in a shed located in Newcastle, Safety MITS has taken off since its launch in 2010, and now services major earthmoving and mining companies in Australia and internationally. “Now we are considered to be the leader in exoskeletal technologies in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia,” Safety MITS director Tony Brooks said.

Having worked in a range of maintenance tasks in the industry, the Safety MITS team created the business around a culture of eliminating risks and reducing injuries and fatalities by providing innovative safe technologies.

All of Safety MITS’ products have been developed in compliance with Australian and New Zealand industry standards, which are some of the strictest in the world.

“Safe and innovative products fit for industry are our passion,” Mr Brooks said.

A prime example is the Eksovest, which was developed to protect workers who sustain injuries due to keeping their arms raised and outstretched, often using tools or lifting objects for prolonged periods of time.

The Ekso Works EksoVest is an upper body exoskeleton that elevates and supports a worker’s arms to assist them with tasks ranging from chest to overhead.

It’s lightweight and low profile, making it comfortable to wear in all conditions while enabling freedom of motions.

“Using the EksoVest means workers experience fewer on-site injuries and tasks are completed faster and with high quality results,” Mr Brooks said.

“Workers stay healthier and experience increased stamina, and companies gain greater productivity as a result.”

Safety MITS also provides aluminium work platforms and high density plastic cribbing and blocking blocks, plus other bespoke engineered products for industry.
