COCA-Cola Amatil chief ex­ec­u­tive Alison Watkins will join other cor­po­rate heavy­weights in June for her first Vin­nies CEO Sleepout.

She is one of a small band of women CEOs join­ing the na­tional fund raiser for the home­less or­gan­ised by the St Vin­cent de Paul So­ci­ety. Oth­ers in­clude El­lie Comer­ford (Gen­worth), Mar­tine Jager (RAMS), Holly Kramer (Best & Less), and Mer­ryn York (Pow­er­link Queens­land).

Watkins and oth­ers in the Syd­ney sleepout on June 18 will be hud­dled in sleep­ing bags at Luna Park. Other CEOs will hun­ker down on card­board sheets on the ground in Mel­bourne, Bris­bane, Can­berra, Perth, Launce­s­ton, Dar­win, Alice Springs, New­cas­tle and Wol­lon­gong. The Ade­laide sleepout takes place on June 25.

This year is the 10th h an­niver­sary of the event nt which was first held in Syd­ney y Olympic Park in June 2006. It will fo­cus at­ten­tion on the in­creas­ings­ing prob­lem of home­less women. Vin­nies says some 44 per cent of home­less are women. The CEOs aim to raise more than $10 mil­lion from this year’s event.
