Peter Stark says it was 2008 when he fi­nally cracked Bar­bera. While show­ing its age with a faded colour it has lay­ers of clas­sic Ital­ian style: sour red cherry, meaty and dried herb fruits given vi­tal­ity by bright, yet fine acid­ity. It is a wine that de­mands meat.
