Brisbane Powerhouse, August 17-28

The Australian - Wish Magazine - - ARTS -

Funny and unsettling, inspired by Sam Shepard’s upbringing on the edge of the Mojave Desert, this 1983 play – a finalist for the Pulitzer – begins with an uneasy sibling reunion. Hollywood screenwriter Austin hasn’t seen his brother Lee, a drifter and a thief, in five years, and his return brings disruption and the promise of violence. This Brisbane Powerhouse production stars Thomas Larkin and Julian Curtis as the brothers whose rivalry and rage will push them to the brink of murder.
