THAT’S THE NUMBER OF AUSTRALIAN WOMEN WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED MENTAL ILLNESS, NEW RESEARCH SHOWS.
The study from the Australian Health Policy Collaboration, in collaboration with Victoria University, found that poor mental health is the leading cause of disability in Australian women, with younger women, aged 16-24, reporting the highest rates of mental disorders. One in five mothers of children aged two years or less are diagnosed with depression.
