THAT’S THE NUMBER OF AUSTRALIAN WOMEN WHO HAVE EXPERIENCE­D MENTAL ILLNESS, NEW RESEARCH SHOWS.

The study from the Australian Health Policy Collaborat­ion, in collaborat­ion with Victoria University, found that poor mental health is the leading cause of disability in Australian women, with younger women, aged 16-24, reporting the highest rates of mental disorders. One in five mothers of children aged two years or less are diagnosed with depression.
